This place isn’t just a dining experience; it’s an adventure, a mission, and a full-fledged tribute to one of gaming’s most iconic franchises.  Creating an Anime Festival Orlando Poster Using Adobe Illustrator on an iPad Pro For my latest project, I designed a promotional poster for Anime Festival Orlando (AFO) using Adobe Illustrator on an iPad Pro. This task came with several creative challenges, particularly the restriction of not using a background. Despite this limitation, I aimed to create a visually engaging and energetic design that captures the excitement of the event. Design Elements and Concept The poster prominently features the festival’s name, “AFO,” with the letter “O” cleverly transformed into Luffy’s iconic straw hat from One Piece . This immediately conveys the anime theme and draws attention. Below the main title, the full event name, “Anime Festival Orlando,” is displayed in a bold, stylized font to reinforce branding. The festival’s date, “June 20-22,” is placed at the bottom in a thick outlined font, ensuring clarity and readability. Additionally, I included a fun illustration of a Jolly Roger-inspir...
Unleashing Creativity with the Thirty Circles, Alternate Uses, and Make Your Sandwich Exercises Creativity is a muscle, and like any muscle, it needs exercise to grow stronger. One of the best ways to warm up your creative thinking is through fun, time-sensitive challenges. Three great exercises for this are the Thirty Circles Exercise, developed by IDEO, the Alternate Uses Exercise, and the Make Your Sandwich Exercise, all designed to push the boundaries of ideation and self-expression. What is the Thirty Circles Exercise? The Thirty Circles Exercise is a fantastic warm-up for brainstorming sessions, workshops, or personal creative practice. The challenge is simple: fill up a sheet containing 30 empty circles with as many recognizable objects as possible in just three minutes. Tools: A Thirty Circles sheet (or a blank sheet where you can draw 30 circles) Pens or markers Participants: Solo or group activity Time: 3 minutes + discussion ...

Guajataca Signs: A Boy Scout's Dream Realized Guajataca has always held a special place in my heart. As a Boy Scout, I spent countless days exploring its campgrounds, bonding with my troop, and immersing myself in the adventure that the great outdoors provided. One memory that always stood out was the idea of designing signs for the camp—something I always wanted to do but never had the chance to. Now, with Adobe Illustrator on an iPad Pro, I finally brought that vision to life. Bringing the Signs to Life One of the signs I designed is the bow and arrow sign, representing one of the many exciting activities available at Guajataca. Archery was a thrilling challenge, requiring patience, precision, and skill—qualities that Scouting instilled in me from a young age. The bold colors and clean lines of the sign make it easy to recognize while capturing the spirit of adventure and marksmanship that the activity embodies. Another design close to my heart is the Camp Site B sign. This ...
