My Journey in Digital Arts

Hi, I’m Luis Perez, and I’m a Digital Arts student at Keiser University. My life is all about blending creativity with technology, and I’ve been lucky enough to turn my biggest passions—gaming, anime, and cars—into a path toward a career I’m excited about.
I spend my days learning new design tools, exploring 3D modeling, and optimizing my gaming rig. When I’m not studying or working on digital projects, you can find me tuning my car, binging anime marathons, or diving into tech news and gaming communities. I love experimenting with new ideas and pushing myself to create something visually stunning, whether it’s a digital design or a car modification.
My goals are what keep me focused. I plan to graduate by 2026 with a strong portfolio that will help me break into the digital design or gaming industry. I also want to master 3D modeling and animation tools and, one day, create or participate in a digital art project inspired by anime or gaming. On a personal level, I’m saving up to build a dream home office setup and keep working on my ultimate car project.
Of course, balancing everything isn’t always easy. Between school, hobbies, and family, time management can be a challenge. I also have moments where I overanalyze my creative work, which can slow me down. But my family has always been my biggest motivation—they push me to keep going, even when things get tough.
For me, digital art isn’t just a career path; it’s a way of life. I’m passionate about turning my hobbies into something meaningful, and I’m excited to see where this journey takes me.

Shortcut Like a Pro: How a Stream Deck, an XP-Pen, and Photoshop Shortcuts Made Me Rethink the Mouse Why Keyboard Shortcuts, Stream Decks, and Tablets Beat a Mouse Any Day Hey everyone, welcome back! Shortcuts . These little keystrokes can save hours, especially when paired with a Stream Deck XL and an XP-Pen tablet. It turns out, using these tools together makes editing in Photoshop smoother, faster, and honestly, way more fun. Here’s what I learned and why shortcuts are worth mastering. Why Shortcuts Matter Let’s be real—every time you move your hand off the keyboard to grab the mouse, it interrupts your flow. With shortcuts, you’re staying in the zone. Add a Stream Deck to the mix, and now, instead of remembering all those keystrokes, you can just tap a button and keep rolling. The result? Less fumbling and more creating. The Stream Deck XL: The Shortcut Machine Imagine a control panel customized just for Photoshop—everything from brush sizes to layer controls is just a button pr...

Unlocking Creativity Through Reverse Brainstorming: A Portfolio Growth Activity When working on my graphic design portfolio, I realized I was struggling to come up with fresh, standout project ideas. My usual process felt predictable, so I searched for an activity to expand my creativity—not by drawing better, but by thinking differently. That’s when I discovered Reverse Brainstorming , a problem-solving technique that flips traditional ideation upside down. The Activity: Reverse Brainstorming The idea is simple: instead of asking, “How can I improve my portfolio?” , I asked the opposite question: “How can I make my portfolio terrible?” I listed every answer that came to mind: Fill it with random, unfinished work. Use clashing colors and inconsistent typography. Ignore organization or flow. Make every project look the same. Skip descriptions and let the viewer guess. Once I had a messy list of “bad ideas,” I flipped them back around into solutions: Show o...
